NA-SIMS Workshop, NextGenChemLeaders and UKSAF Summer Meeting

I traveled quite a bit during June and July. First, I participated in the 2nd North American Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometry Workshop from June 8-12, 2025, held at California State University Northridge in Northridge, California. On Sunday, June 8th, I delivered a presentation on Machine Learning in SIMS during the SIMS School and showcased posters submitted by Caroline Bouvier and Kimberly Garcia on Wednesday, June 11th.

Next, I took part in the Next Generation Leaders in Dutch Chemistry summit that took place in Leiden from July 7 to 11, 2025. This event was organized by the Royal Netherlands Chemical Society (KNCV) in collaboration with the Lorentz Center and alumni from NextGenChem. This invitation-only workshop is designed for up-and-coming chemistry leaders located in the Netherlands. By offering mentorship, networking opportunities, and practical training, this workshop equips young PIs with the necessary tools and support to thrive and take charge in the fast-changing Dutch chemistry landscape.

I finally made it to the 2025 UKSAF Summer meeting, which took place at the National Physical Laboratory (NPL) in Teddington from July 15 to 16. During this event, I had the pleasure of delivering an invited talk called ‘ToF-SIMS Imaging: Improved Methodologies and Analysis across Applications’ on Wednesday, July 16.
